The requirements for working visas can generally be broken down into the following:


1. Identity

2. Skills and Experience

3. Financial Independence


In other words, the Japanese immigration authorities grant working visas to persons who: 

 

1. are able to provide proof of identity,

2. have the relevant and requisite skills and/or experience for the activity that the applicant proposes to undertake,

3. will receive adequate compensation to remain financially independent from the state during their stay in Japan.

The requirements for family visas can generally be broken down into the following:

 

1. Identity

2. Relationship to Japanese national/existing visa holder

3. Financial Independence


In other words, the Japanese immigration authorities grant working visas to persons who: 

 

1. are able provide proof of identity,

2. demonstrate their relationship to a Japanese national/current visa holder upon which their visa will be based,

3. will receive adequate compensation/financial support remain financially independent during their stay in Japan.
